Born and raised in Southern California, Rachel Escobar, fell in love with photography at the young age of 11. Constantly having her parents buy her disposable cameras, so she could take them to school, around the neighborhood, anywhere she went. Making photographs of whatever caught her eye. The love continued in high school when she got her first film camera of her own where she was taught how to correctly expose and develop her own photos along with making her own gelatin silver prints. Never setting down her camera, she decided to follow her dream of photography. In 2008, she moved to San Francisco to attend the Academy Of Art University, where she received a BFA in photography in late 2013. Falling in love with what Northern California had to offer, and finding peace in solitude, she visits different surrounding areas, but her heart lays within the forests.
